Drizzled on top of pancakes or mixed in with baked beans or sweet potatoes, maple syrup is a staple in kitchens around the world. Its rich story dates back to the 1500s when the first written documentation of maple sugaring in North America was reported by French explorer André Thévet. Today, it’s packaged in beautiful glass bottles and drizzled on top of our favorite foods.

Although it is impossible to list all of the amazing maple syrups available, BOB has a few recommendations (in glass containers) to try the next time you are at the grocery looking for something different to dress up your pancakes.

Industries Bernard & Fils

The Bernard family has been making pure maple syrup since the early 1800s when their forefathers collected sap from the maple trees with hanging buckets, returned it to the sugar shack in horse-drawn wooden vats and boiled it down to maple syrup in iron kettles that sat over an open fire. Much has changed with the process since those early colonial days, but the lessons learned about how to make premium, quality maple syrup have been carefully preserved. Industries Bernard & Fils offers a range of syrups that are made to taste great, using only ingredients that are good for you – no preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, sodium, artificial flavors or colors are used. Whether its products are certified organic or conventional, you can always count on quality products that will exceed your expectations from Industries Bernard & Fils.

Did you know?
The grades of pure maple syrup are based on color and flavor, and they do not relate to quality. The grades help identify the right flavor profile for the palate or recipe. As a general rule, the darker the maple syrup color, the more robust the flavor. Maple is broken into two main categories – Grade A and Processing Grade. There are four classes within Grade A: Grade A Golden, Delicate; Grade A Amber, Rich; Grade A Dark, Robust; and Grade A Very Dark, Strong. The Processing Grade category is available exclusively for commercial use as a food product ingredient.
